ExperienceThe proper use of words is not just a problem for grade school students, but it can be an ongoing challenge throughout an individual's life. Communication is immensely important for both professional and personal reasons, which is why I tutor students in English, writing, French, and general good study habits and standardized test preparation. I have studied abroad in Paris for a full year, as well as in Burkina Faso, part of French-speaking West Africa. I also enjoy teaching English grammar and writing skills to my tutoring students because I have an enthusiasm for both written and spoken words, even in my native English! I have years of teaching experience as well, including with a French school in San Francisco, and in teaching ACT preparation in Oakland. I have also independently tutored both English and French to grade school students ranging from elementary to high school. In addition to French, I have a solid understanding of Spanish, German, and Arabic, and I have a great grasp of vocabulary because of an understanding of Latin. Recently, I've taken up Portuguese. Not only am I learning the language, I am finding new ways to be involved with using it, which I encourage my tutoring students to do as well.
